Coming Monday could be a holiday in Noida schools

Dear Readers, this is just a heads up. District magistrate Noida has asked for private school’s views on calling a day off on Monday given the extent of polluted air that has enveloped the city. AQI (Air quality index) level of 150 is considered acceptable but the smog caused post Diwali festivities is still in the range of 400 in the city.  If the AQI remains above dangerous levels beyond 200, DM is expected to direct schools to make it a mandatory holiday on Monday.

We appreciate the move given the extent of silent damage this polluted air is causing to the children in the region. Many children through last week have reportedly fallen ill when brought in contact with the outdoors. Gurgaon administration too is discussing a similar option. Shriram school management has already taken note of the worsening conditions and decided to shut down schools in Delhi till Monday. Do check with your child’s school management before you get your child ready on the coming Monday!!!
