Comparison of Noida Expressway schools

Schools are mushrooming on Noida Expressway. Since Expressway provides an easy connectivity to southern part of Delhi, it is finding favor of parents from the capital as well. Infact, as of now, almost 40% students in these schools have origins from Delhi. With an expected population of another 1 to 1.5 lakhs to move to the region by next 3-4 years, the competition for the best is going to be even more intense.

ShriramMillenium

Almost all schools on Noida Expressway are categorized as International, World or Global schools thereby implying a heavy on pocket fee structure. Most of these schools on Expressway are reportedly following international methodology for teaching and  overall development of children.

While most of the schools are in growing phase (both infrastructure and experience wise), we tried to come up with a general perception of the schools based on parent’s reviews, faculty, results and existing infrastructure.

The references (on the basis of which the below feedback has been arrived to) are shared at the bottom of the article.

How is Prometheus school expected to be? Currently infrastructure is being developed but sports infrastructure looks well planned. Confused. Anybody got their child admitted?

I was in a similar situation last year but I chose lotus valley finally. overall this is what I felt: if you don’t want child to appear from exams till class 5, if you don’t have time to put effort with your kid at home, then go for gyanshree. otherwise, staff of lvis is much more mature. especially if you have a long term goal, lvis is better.

Actually all have mixed reviews. And it all depends on what parameters are most important to you. if it is sports, go for jbm or gyanshree. if it is co-curricular activities, go for gyanshree and if its academics, indraprastha, gyanshree, jbm, all did a decent job in this year board exams.

    Hi,
You can check for the Global Indian International School (GIIS) sector 70 as well, which is quite close to sector 120.
    My kid is going there.
Initially I was little concerned as for me the fee was little higher, but after seeing the progress of my kid, now I feel satisfied.
For a kid upto class KG the fees is approx 7500 (+ 3500 bus fees) monthly
Now my kid has come to class 1 and fees is increased for 9200 (+3600 bus fees) monthly.

Hope this information may help you.

Unfortunately some parents did take out their kids from Somerville intl due to three prime reasons – lack of individual attention and very little focus on co and extra curricular activities and infra. Among the ones you mentioned, TSMS is obviously best followed by Shiv nadar and then Mayoor.

JBM-Great infra, average academics, decent student teacher ratio.
Somerville International-Disciplined, relatively senior staff, relatively poor student teacher ratio, higher fees
Gyanshree-Very similar to JBM, new school with lot of focus on extra curricular activities.

Since me and my wife both are working we want to keep our son for first 6-8 Months in my in laws house who are residing in Crossings republik . I am searching for a good school distance wise somewhere in middle of Crossings Republik and Noida expressway so that when we settle down , we only have to change Bus route , some school which provides transport to both Expressway and Crossings . Looking for a school good in academics and value for money. I searched about Khaitan,Apeejay,Millenium ,Army public school ,sommerville sec 22 , Can you help with fees of these and Do they provide transport to both directions ? and is it easy to get admission in these ?

Assume this is for nursery admission. They would ask the kid in a non-formal manner about some shapes and colors in the room they sit in. And may ask him/her about his/her likings for food and sports. Rest will be a couple of questions to you like why this school, what will you do if you are unsatisfied with the school and what are your ambitions for the child.

Please guide me about admissions in Somerville, VBPS, Bal Bharati, Apeejay schools in central Noida..How much difficult it is to secure admissions in these schools..Any other traditional school you would like to recommend keeping in mind the budget and academics.

Gyanshree has done decently well this academic season. Good thing is they have drafted in some good academician of late. While it is still expected to take some time, it might end up in league of top 7 noida expressway school by next academic season, next to Shriram Millenium, SBS, Lotus valley, Shiv nadar, Mayoor, Genesis.

Thank you for developing this forum. Its indeed a great platform for parents to gain insights for school admissions in Noida.

My son is 2 right now and would be staring his play school in April 2017.

In 2017 I need to apply for his 2018 admissions.

I have shortlisted TSMS as the first priority for my sons admission followed by other schools that too on Noida Expressway itself but since I stay in Indirapuram, should I try to get my son admitted in pre nursery in 2018 or wait another year and get him admitted in Nursery in 2019.

Considering the distance, Is it worth sending the child in pre nursery from Indirapuram to TSMS? Although there are kids going to TSMS in Nursery from Indirapuram.

    Appreciate your outlook.
    Thanks

Thanks for the kind words. It is imperative for parents to closely and frequently participate in schools events and interaction. The distance you are talking of could be a reasonable hindrance to this. Hence, my suggestion would be to re-think. You could try some relatively closer schools in Noida central region for seeking advanced learning and attention. Millenium school could be one of them.

How do you feel about TSMS, Noida (The Shriram Millenium School). Means how is it doing now in terms of academics & extra curricular. You think it will emerge as strongly as Shriram School, Gurgaon. I read that Noida TSMS is a joint venture between Educomp & Shriram group. So I guess its the same difference as being DPS managed & franchisee. Will it come out to be one of the best ones in terms of academics also in years to come in Noida. My kids will be going to Class 3,4. So for now its OK. But is it like I may have to shift them to more academically oriented schools around their 8th Class. Or may be TSMS improves by then. Your insights on this will help me decide.

If you compare teachers of various schools on Noida expressway, you will find that teachers from Step by step and Shriram are the most experienced.
The biggest asset of Shriram are immaculately planned Extra curricular activities that lead to overall personality change of the child. They are not too hard on the child. At the same time, they promote what child is good at and give enough stress on where he/she needs to improve upon.
DPS franchisee is an altogether different ball game. These are individuals not necessarily from DPS past that associate themselves with DPS to form franchisee. On the other hand, Shriram is the front runner in Shriram Millenium school.
The biggest issue some feel is ICSE board which is broader in comparison to what one would have in CBSE board. If you are comfortable with that, you may well opt for it.

In my case — I am going to move to Sector 150 soon. I personally prefer Army Public School because of fee, discipline and academics with overall development. However from Sector 150 APSN will be a long and unfair distance for the child.

I have one more 2 yr old son, who will also join school soon.. looking for a decent school. I like TSMS but find the fee too high for two kids..! I wish Army School was on Expressway.. . kindly guide accordingly..!

TSMS follows IGCSE board if that matters…Shiv Nadar follows a learning methodology which is generally perceived as being too lenient with kids…most schools on the expressway aren’t ready yet to evaluated on academic results yet. the key considerations have been the learning methodology followed, infrastructure, extra co-curricular activities promoted. On these dimensions, Pathways and Genesis take the cake. However, the fees structure is an issue with most parents. SBS, Gyanshree, Shiv Nadar are the second best layer in my opinion as assessed on the parameters mentioned above.

what would be the difference in career options for children passing out of different boards say CBSE IN SNS VS ICSE IN SRM, also what is the current status of board results given by these two schools till date?
mean while i visited both the schools and found out that infrastructure of SNS is way better than SRM and hence it deserves that fee structure, however when i met parents of children at SRM i found them to be highly satisfied with overall progress of their children, few parents at SNS were a lil bit concerned about lack of academics at SNS .

Parents of Father Agnel are the most satisfied of the lot you have mentioned. Mayoor and Somerville are similarly placed.

    Hi
We have recently shifted to Prateek Laurel in Sector 120, Noida. Our daughter is Sep 2013 born and will be eligible for Nursery for AY 2017-18. We are looking for good schools for her and need help. There is Millenium School, Sec 122 very close by. How is this school branch ? DPS Sec 122 is also announced, and will come up in 2 years, till then, the classes will be held in Sec 30 branch. How are these two options ? Else, should we look at Expressway schools, which will be at least a 30-45 mins bus journey away ? If Expressway, then which schools on expressway are good ? We are looking at all-round development of child, including academics, extra-curricular and inculcation of good value systems. Fees is not a constraint. Kindly suggest. Thanks!

You should try Millenium school. DPS franchises are yet to prove themselves and have been no match to actual DPS management. Expressway shall be far and hence wont suggest the same especially for junior classes.

        hi vaibhav and author,

Even we are from same location and my kid got selected in DPS 122 Noida in KG for 2017-18 session. Since the Sec122 school is not ready therefore the intial classes will be held in DPS Sector 30, Noida for 2-3 years.

As confirmed by the principle this will not be a franchise but a core DPS school which will be directly managed by DPS Society. This sounds convincing but still not able to decide whether we should go ahead or not.

As per DPS they have already purchased the land in Sector 122 and in next 2-3 years, school will be constructed in Sector 122.

Kindly share your views and also please update if anyone has any idea of this or anyone’s kid has been selected

        Regards,

        Garima

Need some help in choosing the right school for my daughter’s admission in nursery. We let go Amity International and now facing a choice between Apeejay, Gyanshree and Shiv Nadar. Shiv Nadar’s result are yet to declared though. As of now, really impressed with Gyanshree post visiting the school and having an interaction with the principal. However, Apeejay is an old established school which I too studied from. Haven’t found a negative/cynical comment on Gyanshree yet other than from the blogger/author. Hi Sonia,

Though I also have a small daughter and I am looking forward to putting my daughter in any of the schools, but from whatever knowledge I have gained through parents interaction and other things, I will try to answer your query.

There are extra-curricular activities in Amity but not so brilliant. They try to involve kids in many things but its upto the parent to strengthen the command of the child in any activity. School will just provide an initial push. I know of some kids who have done brilliantly in inter-school skating competitions but then I would give credit to the parents here, not the school. I hope you understand what I am trying to mean here. School will just involve you superficially, to go beyond excellence in a particular sport or creative thing such as music is upto the parents.

As far as I know, they do not have a meal facility.

      Hi Ashish,

Its not very tough to get admission in any of the above mentioned schools if you compare it with say DPS Noida or Amity as the no. of people who opt for such schools are fewer maybe because of higher fee structure or their new teaching methodology. They have a healty interaction with both the kid and parents. But if you go once and get selected and after that you back out, then they would never consider you in future.

Is it worth withdrawing the admission from vbps for The Khaitan school noida? suggest few good schools for a quick learner but a bit shy child nearby sector 50 ? results are on hold for amity and somerville noida .what about father agnel and cambridge (fee structure and academically)?

I know a few ppl who have moved their child from khaitan to vbs. In vbs, individual attention is limited. However, 50% of the child are quite well versed and all rounders.

Plus Ashish the core Shriram school in Delhi and Gurgaon started with ICSE board long back with great success and I guess this is the reason they have stuck to it. However all new Shriram Global schools which are coming up are affiliated to CBSE.

You are right Ashish. TSMS is ICSE only. ICSE is considered more exhaustive in comparison to CBSE hence the course and curriculum are more lengthier and cumbersome. But school has paid due diligence to ensuring children are up to the speed. The reason for not going for CBSE must be the fact that it is one of very few exclusively ICSE affiliated schools and then there is no dearth of children for admissions to TSMS. Moreover, CBSE requires completely different faculty operating at different levels of competency. Hence, managing both is difficult. So, they dont find a reason for change.

I am confused between GIIS and Millennium school noida, I live around that area and these two schools are in proximity, I am looking for my kid’s nursery admission. Global follows Montessori method and looks good for holistic development however play ground there is not big enough and may not be a good option as kid progresses to higher classes. This looks good overall except this part.

Millennium is fine infrastructure wise and has more wider presence across states also they seem to have somewhat proven record on the 10th and 12th CBSE exams, whereas Global in noida is still till 9th class only, so there is no historical results to look at. Millennium’s method is also aimed towards holistic development of kids. Please suggest which one should we opt for?

    Hi,
We are looking for admission for my son in nursery for 2017-18 academic session.
    He is Feb 2013 born.
He is selected in Somerville international, but we are not sure about this school
We have also tried in Somerville sector 22, vishwa bharti out of traditional schools.
We did not receive call for interaction from DPS, Noida and he is not eligible in Amity and Apeejay.
Now, we are in confusion as we are residing in Sec 52 currently at rent. We’ll be moving to Sector 100 in a year or two.
Shall we try in mayoor and lotus valley as well keeping future location in mind?
Or shall we go for Somerville, sector 22 or vishwa bharti (if selected) ?
Or shall we go for Somerville international?
We have to keep our child in daycare also. We are looking for a balanced school. We do not want to send our child to super rich crowd school either as we are upper middle class and want a similar crowd.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!!

I am bit confused between traditional schools like DPS,Somerville,VBS,Khaitan,Amity etc and new age school like Genesis,Gyanshree,SBS,TSMS,Shiv Nadar,Lotus Valley etc. My child is very reserved so was preferring to send him to school with better teacher to child ratio. Is my perception right that traditional schools have high teacher to child ratio? If correct please rate new age schools mentioned above. I dont have a budget constraint if school is good.

Your perception about traditional schools having high child to teacher ratio is right. Amongst the traditional ones you mentioned, have heard good about VBS from individual attention perspective. Otherwise, Millenium, TSMS, Shiv nadar, SBS are good options. I wont suggest going to Pathways or Genesis. They set a standard from where struggle is a difficult situation to deal with.

The same child may find things more to his/her liking elsewhere. Out of the ones you have chosen, for nursery admissions, i would have suggested Shiv nadar followed by lotus valley follwed by alchon.

Thanks a lot for all your answers Ravi and Go4reviews. They have cleared many doubts in my mind. I have three more queries.
    1. Out of Shiv Nadar and Lotus valley – which one is preferable
    2. My daughter will be eligible for pre-nursery in 2017-2018. Should we go for Shri Ram Millenium right away or should we wait for the next year for nursery admission.
    3. Does TSMS take care of the homework as well and gets it completed in the school itself ? Is it day boarding (till 4:30) sort of and do they provide meals etc. ?

I know that for SBS, this is now or never so we will certainly try for that this session but I am not sure of TSMS, Shiv nadar etc. What should we do for them – Now or next year ?

My daughter’s DOB is 29/04/2014. I have started sending her to Play School (Mother’s pride) sec -93.

Please give your valuable suggestions one more time on what should we do ?

Please find my views with respect to the queries you have :

      1) Both Shiv Nadar and Lotus Valley are good schools. LV is more established and has delivered excellent board results whereas Shiv Nadar is pretty new setup. However LV is more commercialized when you compare it with SNS. It boils down to your personal preference.

      2) It totally depends. Its better to send them to formal school if they are eligible. In my view you can get her admitted now and can take a shot at Step By Step this year. if she gets through, its great, but if not you still have a choice. SBS admissions starts after LV, SNS and TSMS are through with their admission formalities. The only thing is that in this case you will lose the admission fees which is somewhere around 50K-60K depending on the school.

      3) TSMS does take care of home work in lower classes. However from 5th -6th class they do give some assignment to be competed at home. It is not day boarding but they do provide lunch from Kalika ( Upper KG) onwards.

In case you need to discuss it further please call me on 9811184616.

I had been going through your post and is quite impressive. My daughter is going to be 3 years in December 2017 and we will be shifting to Noida Expressway soon. After going through your post, I have short-listed Amity, Mayoor, Vishwa Bharti, Apeejay, Somerville and Khaitan. Can you please suggest top 3 schools with good brand name, academics, co-curricular activities that too value for money for admission in year 2017?
    Thank you.

You are looking for nursery admission for your child. Based on our survey of parents of various schools, Sriram millenium, Shiv nadar, Father agnel (though not exactly on noida expressway) seem to be the favorite. Apart from these, VBS, Somerville (sector 22 only) and Khaitan are the next in line. You may choose one of these based on your location.
      Brand name: Sriram Millenium
      Academics: Somerville sector 22
Co-curricular: Shiv Nadar > Sriram Millenium

We are planning to shift our child from cbse to international curriculum. The two schools that provide these are pathways and Genesis. I wanted a comparison between the two regarding trained staff, infrastructure, fee structure etc.

    Hi Amit,

Again if you are inclined towards better sports facility then go for Shiv Nadar. They follow CBSE pattern. Off late there have been some issues raised by parents that they are a bit slow as far as academics is concerned. Also their senior class faculty is not as good as TSMS.
In TSMS you have issue of infrastructure which does impact sports as a whole but if you look at the overall development of the kid this is one of the best schools in Noida. They follow ICSE curriculum.

The approx. monthly fees of TSMS is Rs 20000 while that of SNS is Rs 16000.

For any further details you can also call me on 9811184616.

How is gyanshree coming up as a school ? It has some very good infrastructure which is missing for The Shree Ram Millennium School. My top choices are

    1. Step by Step for pre-nursery but very difficult to get admission.
    2. I was thinking TSMS but it lacks the infrastructure . The play ground is not up to the mark. Do they plan to expand their infrastructure in the near future ?

What should be my 3rd choice on expressway ? Budget is not a constraint but the school should be good.

No Amit. TSMS has limited area to expand as well and thats the only place it lacks. 3rd choice has to be Genesis followed by Shiv nadar for sure. Gyanshree has a long way to go still.

          Amit,

It totally depends on what you are looking for in the school.

If you are inclined towards excellent sports facility with good education then go for Genesis or Lotus Valley. Both these schools follow CBSE.

The sports facility in TSMS is not on par with any of the the above two schools. Also TSMS follows ICSE curriculum so you need to be comfortable with that as well but then the quality of teachers and education is absolutely top notch be it academics, extra curricular development or moral values.

Genesis and TSMS also have IB curriculum option available in case you are interested in it.

The fees of Genesis is approx. 30% more than TSMS and around 40% more than Lotus Valley. The approx. monthly fees of TSMS is Rs 20000, Lotus Valley is Rs 16000 and that of Genesis is Rs 30000 (all including transport of approx. Rs 3500 per month).

SBS follows CBSE and IB curriculum whereas TSMS follows ICSE and IB curriculum. If you are looking for IB then go for either of them. For CBSE it would be SBS and for ICSE it would be TSMS. If your kid is preparing for IIT/ Medical entrance then CBSE is a better bet as the curriculum is more in tune for these entrance exams.

An Honest and True Event : our daughter has been studying in this Indraprastha Global School since four year. now we are thinking of moving our child from this school due to non accountability of principal. it is high time for top management to think whether they want to upgrade their school or degrade with such a principal who thinks parents should not ask the question to the principal. she take fees and after that she don’t have the capacity to answer the parents. if she was right then what was problem in answering the question to the parents. Parents pay full fees but INDRAPRASTHA GLOBAL SCHOOL who cant even manage their AC faults and when someone ask them then they blame on the childrens that childrens are lying. childrens might lie but can the sweating of the uniform (regularly for few days) lie ? It is been four years we have never seen the uniform soaked in sweat before. It is unbelievable if principal have this kind of blaming attitude then what they would teach to our kids and instead of accepting or checking out what the reality of issue is, PRINCIPAL wording is DON’T TRY TO TEACH ME , I HAVE 25 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE . we coudln’t understand was it a experience of misbehaving with parents asking questions. To ANSWER THE PARENTS IS NOT JUST ACCOUNTABILITY BUT IT IS ANY SCHOOL’S LIABILITY. even our PRIME MINISTER answers to the public’s question. one must understand that time has passed away when you can easily shout in a closed room on any parent. But it is very expensive to do that now. I hope a positive change will occur in the system that will increase the positivity in our childrens life to create a better future. WE ARE NOT AGAINST ANY PRINCIPAL WE ARE AGAINST THE ATTITUDE . They must understand the CHAIR on which they are being seated is a CHAIR of RESPONSIBILTY towards better future of our NATION.

Thanks for sharing. With more people moving to Noida expressway, schools are finding it relatively easier to have the seats filled. Hence, there is a definite change in attitude ( a negative shift). We shall pass over this message to the concerned.

We are shifting from Chennai to Noida somewhere in July and searching for a good school for my son. He is currently studying in Eurokids Chennai in LKG. We have so many doubts, here I am jotting them out:
        1. My son is born on 29th June’2011 so he will be 4 yrs 9 months as on 1st April – In which standard will he be selected?
        2. Eurokids follows totally Montessori education system, where they focus more on activity based learning. However, I could hardly see any school which is full Montessori in Noida. Here student to child ratio is 10:1 which does not seems to be case in Noida.
        3. Our home in on Noida expressway where most of the schools are of international affiliation, where fees is on the highest side and all of them seems to be new establishments. So can not trust the academics.
        4. We are moving in July where most of the schools would have started with the new sessions in April and admissions would have completed by Dec/Jan so will we get admission in any of the good school and if yes what are the options?

Hi, please find our comments: 1) He will eligible for KG 2) Typically, 15:1 and 20:1 is considered relatively good in Noida. New age international/global/world schools have that kind of ratio. SBS and GIIS claim to be montessori schools. You can try there but getting admissions to SBS is very difficult. 3) You can check our post to verify academic results of these schools https://go4reviews.in/2015/05/how-to-find-cbse-school-wise-results/
          4) Yes, you may find availability in some schools (like this year, Genesis, JBM, Somerville, DPS still had some options). But, for this year, we can confirm better come May/June.

I am really impressed by your effort on replying each and every query.

I will be moving to Noida in last wee of April from Pune. My daughters will be going to grade 7 & 3. My office is in Sector 62 but I will prefer to stay in main town. Was going through various school list / websites. Below are my thoughts:

SBS, Shiv Nadar are high on fees
Amity, Mayur, khaitan, Vishwa Bharti are good on fees but high on academic. Not sure about extra curricular.

I need advise on which to choose if I limit my budget 30k per quarter. Also how much fees for amity as not getting idea from website. Amity global looks very steep.

Also if I stay in sector 62, then what are good schools in that area. I heard Indus Valley but not heard any review.

Your help will be highly appreciated,

    Thanks

Try GIIS AND Millenium schools as well. They are new age schools. Among the ones you mentioned, Mayur and Khaitan are decent with uniform spread of extra curricular activities as well.

hi, unfortunately kv schools have high student teacher ratio hence, children dont get individual attention. GIIS, Millenium are good options for you. offcourse others like Somerville, Amity are not very far.

We are residing at sector-62 noida,my son is 3 year old. At present he is in daycare of Kidzee. Due to age criteria, he was not eligible or shortlisted in nearby schools(Father Agnel, Somerwille). We have done his admission in Cambridge school which is in sector-27, far from our home. I am very worried, that he have to travel 2 times 8-9 kilometers to reach school and back to daycare. Please suggest what to do…

Hi. I want to give review for DPS Noida. I don’t like DPS School in Noida. They have no respect to people. We made the payment (1500Rs per child) for the admission of my two children. However, due to some confusion, I could not fill the admission form that day. And we were not allowed in the exam. Until now, I am trying ask from them what I should to do, but no response at ALL. I went to school, but The school is not allowed, they are not picking phone, I wrote a request on their Web-site … No response… One time they pick up the and they was very rudely. If their attitudes so rude, then what they will study to children.
BTW I want ask from you about Gyanshree School? Also Mayoor, Lotus?

I am moving from Gurgaon to Noida and want to get my daughter an admission into KG around expressway. My daughter currently is in a world school and need a similar environment for her.. Traditional schools wont work as the ratios are very high.. Fees structure should be not more than 35k per quarter.. Focus should be on individual development and overall growth of the child.

    What would the master recommend?

Thanks, we have some really good base of parents who are helping us reach a conclusion and in process, helping us suggest our readers. Which sector are you moving to? Shiv nadar, Sriram millenium (both have annual fees of around 1.5k to 2k), Lotus Valley (around 1.5k) shall fit in. If budget is too much of a constraint, try JBM or Gyanshree. Both are still in establishment phase owing to tough competition around. Gyanshree is a completely new set up.

Have called all these schools .. Admissions at Shiv Nadar are closed .. I guess it boils down to Shriram and Lotus as they have the most consistent and best reviews after reading all these comments.

Which out of these schools have a more global feel to it? i dont want a very sudden change in environment for my child.

Lastly, how do Sriram and Lotus stand against Fortune? Fortune looks quite reasonable from a fees standpoint.

Fortune doesn’t stand in front of these schools. JBM is better in comparison to Fortune. Sriram runs on ICSE curriculum while Lotus runs on CBSE. Lotus valley might be a better bet considering its established status.

Thanks so much for your inputs. My son has appeared in the test in Global Genesis, Sriram Millenuim and Lotus valley and have got selected in all three schools. I am now in a dilemma which one to select. While Global is good, we have decided against it for budgetary reasons. We really liked the Prinicial -parent interaction in Sriram and also in Lotus valley. Both the principals were very impressive. However, while going thru some reviews, we found lotus not that impressive and had some issues on biasness with children though their infra and facilities are better than Sriram. On the other hand we found great reviews for Sriram on academics. My son is interested in sports n xtra curricular activities but that does not mean we compromise on his academics. He is also good in acedemics and hence ISCE is not an problem. We would like your valuable suggestions on which one to go for.

DPS expressway has a decently experienced staff, most of the senior class teachers hailing from (having taught at) different DPS schools previously. It is still however nowhere near DPS Noida academically at this point. The student teacher ratio however is much controlled in comparison and for someone looking for more attention, is suggested.

    Hi,
I have recently shifted to noida from mumbai and have my office in expressway sec 126. We are working parents and looking for admission for my 3 year old daughter. It seems all these schools on expressway are more or less same. Our prime concern is security as I find that noida is less secure than mumbai. Being a father of a girl child I am worried because of this. I am looking for a school with a daycare or dayboarding facility so that my daughter does not have to travel to daycare after school hours unless someone else thinks otherwise. My budget is around 1 to 1.5L per annum and can be stretched a bit. My office is in sector 126 and I am planning to live somewhere near sec 51,52 or 77, 78. My wife most probably will work near sec 62 however Expressway seems to be first choice as my daughter can come with me and while going back from office I can take her back. Even viid school near 62 will also do as then my wife can pick and drop her. I have looked few schools, Amity International has their daycare called amiown but it is only for pre nursery and KG I guess. I am not sure if it has a day boarding facility, Gyanshree looked promising with a fantastic day care facility -“Footprints” I was quite impressed by the daycare as well school. Is there anyother school with daycare facility in expressway or in central noida which I should consider. I would prefer school with more focus on extra curricular activities and sports facilities with decent acadmics. Need your valuable suggestion.

Hi! Gyanshree school would be an excellent option. Speaking out of personal exp. Besides footprints they have their own day boarding as well . My son cries when it is time to come back home! Infrastructure is amazing and the best thing is equal stress on grooming and academics…

If it was not for daycare requirement, You should have preferred Mayoor or Lotus Valley. Gyanshree is a new set up and parents are giving some decent reviews about the same. You should have a discussion with the school staff and finalize accordingly. If you can travel an extra 10 kms or so fromk office, JBM could be an option too given budget.

Thanks for taking time in providing the feedback. I went to GyanShree and JBM as well. GyanShre is a new setup and thus are more conscious in terms of cleanliness and infrastructure. The daycare is good and the daycare centre head is very experienced and knowledgable lady. I had around 1 hr of chat with her and am quite confident about the well being of my child in daycare. Full marks to infrastructure of school.

JBM too is good in infrastructure but Gyanshree being new takes the shine away. However JBM already has 10th and 12th batch results thus teacher will be more experienced. I did not like their daycare facility. For pre nursery and nursery classes they have beds arranged in corner of room in which classes takes places. So after the classes kid has to remain in the same room.
I also noticed that JBM has G-1 level, I saw presence of some workers there inside one room and children preparing for presentation in the near by room. The place is bit off from the main school and I felt security threat for my kid there. I mean there are possible points which they should take care of. I also found that there is no standard protocol in case of any adversary. I am planning to visit school again with my wife to get another perspective.
As of now Gyanshree looked better to me. I will keep posted about them in coming weeks once i visit them again with my wife

hello Ravi Kashyap ji, can you confirm for millenium. Gyanshree provides meal facility and student teacher ratio is around 20:1 for primary classes and 10-15:1 for pre-primary (play school). Mayoor has optional meal facility which they are thinking of phasing off and student teacher ratio is relatively on higher side.

It doesnt have a good infra currently and thats what might be against it. Discipline wise and english speaking wise its good. But, staff is just decent.

If english speaking is a big criteria for you, you can check somerville international along with shiv nadar and genesis
(if budget permits). Academically, Genesis is the only one established among above.

    Hi Aryan,

Thats a tough choice. As far as infra is concerned, Genesis is far ahead whereas Shriram has a great lineage. Genesis also has great sports facilities. Its again the money you want to spend and how much importance you give to infra. Shriram’s another strong point is that it keeps the kids grounded and is not flashy.

    Hi Ahmad,

I guess you are not having the updated information. The fee structure of above mentioned schools is as below :
Shriram Millenium – Rs 15960 ( without bus), Rs 19000 (with bus)
Shiv Nadar – Rs 12366 (without bus), Rs 15900 (with bus)
Lotus Valley – Rs 12366 (without bus), Rs 16200 (with bus)
    Pathways – Rs 40000 (approx.)
    Genesis – Rs 30000 (approx.)
SBS – Rs 16000 (without bus), Rs 19000 (with bus)

The fee structure for SBS and Shriram is for 2015-16 and is due for increase for next session. For LV and SN, this is the revised fee structure for 2016-17 session.

    Dear Mr. Ravi,

Thanks for the quick response, why it is difficult to get admission in SBS? i collected some info about fee (approximate fee per month) Step By Step, INR 13850 per month
Genesis Global, INR 30,000.00 per month
Shriram Millenium. INR 14400 per month
Shiv Nadar School, INR 8250 per month
Lotus Valley, INR 12600 per month
    Pathways ,INR 10,000 per month
    Mayoor, INR 7000.00 per month

Why Genesis fee is so high, is it really a good value for money?

My personal view would be the following in order of ranking:
    1) Step By Step ( dicey as they their admission process is not transparent)
    2) Genesis Global / Shriram Millenium
    3) Shiv Nadar School
    4) Lotus Valley / Pathways

The reason for this school topping surveys is better than average standing on all parameters. however, it is nowhere near perfection when it comes to any of the individual parameters and that is where parents see issues. Secondly, whatever the school is, almost 40% parents will always have a average/below average experience while others will hold a good perspective. I still suggest you to go from Shriram millenium if its closer to your place. Much more experienced staff and much like good traditional schools albeit with a poorer infra.

Good schools with low student teacher ratio are expensive. The schools with good results have reasonable fees have high student teacher ratio.i I recommend you Kothari that has medium student teacher ratio about 24 and fees are reasonable.
You may try Jaypee, JBM, Somerville International.
Mayoor and Lotus valley are little more expensive.

You sound so pessimist that kid will not able to qualify/pass interactions.

It’s parents who need to work hard not the school. You guys need to spend time to understand and work in tandem with class teacher.

If your child lies to you often, it is because you over-react or react too harshly to his inappropriate behaviour.

    Parenting Tip 2.
If your child is not taught to confide in you about his mistakes, you’ve lost him.

    Parenting Tip 3.
If your child had poor self-esteem, it is because you advice him more than you encourage him.

    Parenting Tip 4.
If your child does not stand up for himself it is because from a young age you have disciplined him regularly in public.

    Parenting Tip 5.
If your child takes things that do not belong to him, it is because when you buy him things, you don’t let him chose what he wants.

    Parenting Tip 6.
If your child is cowardly, it is because you help him too quickly.

    Parenting Tip 7.
If your child does not respect other people’s feelings, it is because instead of speaking to your child, you order and command him.

    Parenting Tip 8.
If your child is too quick to anger, it is because you give too much attention to misbehaviour and you give little attention to good behaviour.

    Parenting Tip 9.
If your child is excessively jealous, it is because you only congratulate him when he successfully completes something and not when he improves at something even if he doesn’t successfully complete it.

    Parenting Tip 10.
If your child intentionally disturbs you, it is because you are not physically affectionate enough.

    Parenting Tip 11.
If your child is openly defiant, it is because you openly threaten to do something but don’t follow through.

    Parenting Tip 12.
If your child is secretive, it is because he doesn’t trust that you won’t blow things out of proportion.

    Parenting Tip 13.
If your child talks back to you, it is because they watch you do it to others and think its normal behaviour.

    Parenting Tip 14.
If your child doesn’t listen to you but listens to others, it is because you are too quick to jump to conclusions.

    Parenting Tip 15.

      4. Indraprastha(yet to go)

Please help me finalize the order of preference. My daughter is extremely introvert and needs personal attention. Secondly we both are working parents. Considering these facts please provide the order. Thanks a lot in advance.

Also, currently I have not tried in Noida based schools because dont when they will start KG admission. We tried for khaitan but my kid could not clear the interaction perhaps due to her nature. Mayoor > DPS(132) > Jaypee > Indraprastha would have been my suggested choice.
Considering that the child takes his/her own time to come to terms with school life, you would need a school that can offer enough attention individually and hence has good teacher student ratio. Above schools except for Indraprastha doesn’t enjoy that advantage though.

    Hi Garima,

Its a difficult choice. If I would have in your place I would have gone for LV just because of the teacher:student ratio as your priority is holistic development. There are lot of extra curricular activities in DPS as well but then the no. of kids is the only area of concern when you compare it with LV. If you look at the board results both the schools have good results.

Hi, both have their own pros and cons. Mayoor is a good school with cbse curriculum. While it has better teachers for senior classes, it is not known for its teaching methodologies at junior level. TSMS might be better for nursery but then its costlier and runs ICSE curriculum which is fast paced in comparison.

Hi Ankur, you can go for Lotus Valley or Kothari in that case. While SBS is and TSMS will be considered better in times to come, the other two are good choices anyways. TSMS and SBS also come with an additional fees burden. So, you can go for Lotus Valley or Kothari if that suits you on other parameters.

It is decent. With low student-teacher ratio, there is a possibility of each student getting attention. But, for higher classes, the academic results are not very inspiring. There are some events that the school organizes during winters (nov-jan). You can see if things improve to your satisfaction by then.

We are currently in US and planning to move to noida early next year. I am looking for schools near sec 134. My son will be going in second grade. Can you suggest some schools which have a low student teacher ratio ?

Hi, you can try TSMS or Shiv Nadar or Genesis (if that suits the budget) that shall fit your requirement.

Is admission to TSMS easy and available round the year? Can I still apply to the school since the date of application has passed?
Also which amongst SBS and TSMS do you prefer (I am fine with ICSE) ?

You can try but last year, it was over few days before the end date. SBS is better than TSMS due to its infrastructural value.

TSMS admissions are still open and you can apply. SBS only takes at pre-nursery level. No nursery admissions at SBS

Thanks for all the guidance you provide on this topic to all concerned parents, I also need guidance as we are really confused for our child

My son will be turning 3 years and 3 months on 1st April 2016.
This makes him ineligible for admission in nursery in SBS, Shree ram and Shiv nadar. He is eligible for pre nursery admission here and also eligible for nursery admissions in Lotus Valley,DPS expressway,Presidium and Kothari. We have missed the boat in DPS Noida and Amity since we were not aware of the admission process in these schools

    I have 2 questions
    A) Are Kothari, Lotus Valley, Presidium and DPS expressway good in terms of overall development or should I consider some other school where he is eligible for nursery admission – Suggestions welcome
B ) Is it sensible to get him admitted to pre nursery in SBS, Shree ram and in a manner waste an year.

      1) Kothari and Lotus Valley are good and fit in to your requirement. Presidium shall be avoided as one doesn’t see future as they move to senior classes.
      2) I would advise against it but if you feel your child needs some time to cope up with schooling, you can try.

    Hi,
SBS is just an year older than TSMS but you seem to suggest that TSMS is the best school in the area while the surveys rank SBS as the best (for many years consecutively). Even the site admissions nursery.com give mixed reviews to TSMS.
Please tell me why you rate TSMS so highly (probably even higher than SBS).

Hi, My view is TSMS will rise exceptionally well. It is mainly because of its innovative teaching methodology, parent-teacher connect and senior staff. But, it has infrastructual limitation where SBS is far better.

      Hi RJ,
Both are really good schools. TSMS has infrastructural limitation and it follows ICSE curriculum which is not very popular in North India. If you talk about admissionnursery.com you will find that the negative reviews is only regarding the people who sit on the reception. There is no negative thing written by any parent about the methodology of teaching, teachers or any other aspect related to education. I interacted with around 10-12 parents whose kids are going to TSMS and all of them were very happy with the ways their kids are shaping up.
As far as SBS is concerned, you are not allowed to enter the school premises. The guard connects you on the extension no. and you are provided with the details regarding the inquiry.

I have read your comments on this website. Can you please tell me what made you so sure about shriram millennium compared to shiv nadar?
Also you say that being an ICSE affiliated school is an advantage for TSMS. Though all curriculums have their pros and cons, what about the fact that all competitive exams are based on CBSE curriculum. What is your opinion ?
Finally, as I have already asked, are there still seats available at shriram millennium for admission since the last date has passed. I thought you might know about it since your daughter studies there.

          Hi Lena,
Till last year I was very sure about SNS. I tried my best to get my daughter admitted there but the authorities did not consider her candidature as she was falling short by 40 days on the age criterion. Even after that I kept on following with them but without success after which I decided to continue with the playschool and try for admission in 2016-17.
By chance in this 1 year I have a few friends whose kids are going to SNS. Off late they have been saying that the school is a bit slow in studies as compared to the other new age schools like, Lotus Valley, SBS and TSMS. For other activities they are good.
Secondly there has not been a single batch from SNS which has passed out, so the parents are a bit worried with the fact that their kids would get overburdened with studies all of a sudden ( one of the kids is in Class 8). TSMS has got a couple of batches which has passed out with excellent results and that also in ICSE which is considered to be a tougher board. They have the right balance of studies and extra curricular activities. Most of the kids don’t require tutions.
As far as board is concerned, yes, I agree that CBSE is more tuned to engineering exams but as far as humanities and medical is concerned, ICSE has a better syllabus.
The negatives of TSMS are small playground, not as great a infrastructure if compared to other new age schools and high fee structure.
I think they are still taking admissions, please check with the school for the same.

Issue I’m facing with admission of my kid that she March 2013 born. So by next session She will be 3 Yrs old and schools like Shiv Nadar, lotus valley aren’t considering her for nursery.

So I’m looking for options where she can be enrolled in Pre-nursery Now and promoted to Nursery in next session,

Given that pre-condition till now I’ve visited JBM and Jaypee. Planning to visit GyanShree , Indraprasth and mayoor.

I’ve seen no feedback from you on GyanShree. How is that school ? and given my situation which schools you would like to suggest me.

        Thanks a lot in advance.

Both are good options. Somerville is well established while GIIS is building up well. Students in Somerville are generally more disciplined but the holistic improvement is achieved by few due to poor teacher to student ratio.

Hi, I m looking for a school in Greater Noida for my 5 year kid. He is currently in Cambridge GN (Prep) and we are thinking of taking him out coz of the school performance issue. Not getting the desired result as the modern techniques and digital things are ignored. Could you please suggest some good schools that improves the holistic performance and are under budget (15-20K per qtr) ? Our preference is DPS/Somerville/Father Agnel. Appreciate your views to this. Thanks for replying. I’ve heard that DPS GN has lost it’s charm when it comes to academics and is very good in other activities. Whereas, for Somerville, it’s like they are very good in academics but not so great with the extra curricular activities or sports. Is it true ? The ratings and pass percentage are almost same for both. Need to choose between these two but a bit confused.

      Hi Gargi,
Both are good, but in the last couple of years Genesis has shaped up very nicely and has got excellent reviews from parents. Also the fee structure of Genesis ( approx. Rs 28000 per month) is lesser than Pathways ( around Rs 40000 per month). Genesis also has option of both IB and CBSE board whereas Pathways is exclusively IB.
i will personally suggest Genesis over Pathways. Rest its your call.

He is not eligible for Shiv Nadar. However he’ll be repeating Pre nursery in shreeram. By the time SBS will open admissions all others would close. Would it be advisable to fill it’s form? When I speak with parents they are all happy with their respective schools.

    Hi Gagan,

The monthly fees for Koshika is around Rs12000 ((plus bus charges (approx. Rs 9000 quarterly)+ annual charges (approx. Rs 18000 yearly payable half yearly)). Its a bit on an expensive side as compared to Lotus Valley and Shiv Nadar School but then it is worth it considering the quality of teachers and the brand. Yes, the infra is a bit disappointing if you look at fees you will be paying but when you look at the positives this is not all that important.

I have seen bal bharti makes a place in the top ten n resonably priced…
Sports n co curricular facilities also seemed decent i hope vr not making a wrong decision
Being a stay at home mom im fully involved with my childs learnings n progressso i guess i will b able to support her development well if the school is decent enough

    Hello,

I have been to Kothari International and the school looks good fro pre-primary, although as came to know senior classes might not be competent enough. What your view on this school? Would it be advisable to consider KIS for pre-primary and then go for big schools like Amity, DPS ?

          JBM Global versus Somerville International

Fraternity – Both have past in education, Somerville is better in this case
          Staff – Almost same
Infrastructure – JBM is much better on this. Sports and other extra curricular activities are far more in comparison
Exposure and Teacher/Parents communication- JBM has an upper end

If you have to choose between two and you expect discipline, Somerville could stand better. However, if you want an overall development, JBM looks a better bet.

Mayoor is older and is a decent school whereas DPS is carrying a great lineage.

Try and check with the parents whose kids are going to these schools. I know a few people whose kids are going to Mayoor and they are pretty happy. I don’t have any first hand information about DPS.

    Hi Shashank,

Do not wait for SBS as there is no set pattern for selection over there. The forms come out somewhere in 1st week of Oct. Once will fill the form online, post which the school selects around 200 (no idea how this is done) for further interaction. Parents and kids are called for interaction and around 70-75 kids are finally selected. My daughter got selected for interaction last year but was not selected for admission in SBS. I continued with her play school (Windows) and this year she finally got through TSMS. I personally would suggest you to get you kid admitted to Lotus Valley now. If he/she gets selected in SBS you can shift her/him there. All parents want best for their kids so a few thousand bucks should not be a deterrent. All the best.

    Hi Gagan,
Anyways if you apply in DPS Noida or Shiv Nadar in next year (2017-18) it will be for nursery only, so there is no question of an year being lost. If you get your ward admitted in Pre-Nursery this year he/she will get promoted to Nursery in the next year. If you get him/her admitted in Lotus Valley/ any school in Delhi, then yes, he/she will get admitted to nursery in 2016-17 as the age criteria is 3/3.25 years. I waited for a year. Its for you to take the final decision.

Even I have heard a lot of issues with both schools but then every person has his/her own set of preferences. You need to decide if you are only looking for academics or you are looking for overall development of the kid. For only academics, its Amity and for overall development, it is Lotus. Any other school you are looking at or have applied in.

Even I had same issue last year with my daughter. I only applied in Step By Step for Pre-Nursery but could not get admission. I let her continue with her playschool even though she was eligible for Pre-Nursery in TSMS which now I feel was a mistake. I should have got her admitted in TSMS last year but at that point of time I was more inclined to Shiv Nadar school and she was not eligible there as well. After lot of in depth study I finally got her admitted to TSMS this year and did not apply for SNS. Both TSMS and SBS have Pre-Nursey and your kid is eligible for both. You can go ahead and apply in both these schools.

Yes Sachin, I am also taking about the same (Millenium, Sec-41). However, I have got my daughter admitted to The Shriram Millenium, and this is also a new age school and hence mentioned it above. I like the way these new age schools work with kids to get the creative best out of them and with TSMS there is an added advantage that it is affiliated to ICSE board.

    Amity,Cambridge,The Millenium(Sec 41),Kothari, Bal bharti

Few people suggested to send the child to tranditional schools which are established ones.
I still feel “The Millenium” will come out as a good school in terms of academics and their new building is coming up in Sec 119.I’m finding it better in their teaching methodology, student teacher ratio as compared to Amity and Cambridge.
Should I take a chance and go for it? Pls suggest.

My personal choice would be between Millenium and Amity among the options mentioned above. If you want to go for traditional you can choose Amity and for holistic development you should go for Millenium. If I were given the option for my kid I would have chosen Millenium as in today’s dynamic environment the kid should have good exposure in different fields. It should not be only limited to studies. I got my kid admitted to Shriram Millenium a few days back. At the end of the day you need to take a call looking at your preference.

My daughter has been selected for nursery admission in Bal Bharti, Mayoor & DPS Expressway, Noida. Although, we also got a call for second round of interaction from Amity & Apeejay school. And Fr. Agnel final result will be out by tomorrow.

Currently we are residing in sec-19, noida and our future residence will be at sec-133, noida (most probably within next 1 or 2 years). Keeping this distance parameter in mind which school should we select that will be good in academics and overall personality development of the child. Kindly, give your preferences.

In Bal Bharti, the majority of questions were asked with the child. I have seen if ur child can respond to questions asked (language doesn’t matters) then they will take the child.

Same thing i have seen at Mayoor school. They are majorly interacting with the child. Also, there is no fix set of questions.

In Bal Bharti, they asked to my child whether she likes chocolate or ice-cream and to that my child responded jelly, which impresses teachers. Thus, you cant prepare ur child, it totally depends on his/her self understanding.

I agree with you that for a young child low student teacher ratio is important so that keeping in mind what should be my preference. Sapphire also offer 24:1 student teacher ration. I am not aware of Mayoor, Khaitan, Bal Bharti. Amity and cambridge I guess have a high Studen-Teacher ratio. Please suggest your preference from above mentioned schools keeping Studen-Teacher Ratio as well as school facilities/Infrastructure in mind.

We agree with Ankit that Millenium school is good and I have been a big fan of their teaching methodology. I have visited both the schools for a survey conducted on behalf of a big education group and I feel Millenium may be better for a young child on some counts. Mayoor however is more holistic and the staff is experienced in comparison to other newly established schools, so its a school that bears fruit as the child moves to senior classes. But eventually, it all depends as to how the child adopts to a school. Best of luck!!!

      Hi Pooja,
TSMS selects the form on basis of the answers given in the registration form after which they call for interaction with the kid and parents. I think they might be also looking at the educational qualification of parents. If selected one needs to pay the fees within 3 days, if not then they call next set of parents for interaction.

Hi, this is a great initiative to start this. this was majorly needed by all parents looking for admissions. will be great to see more parents contributing to this forum to make the data quality even better.

I see in your ranking you have ranked TSMS lower than SBS in fee structure. is that really the case? my perception was SBS and Genesis were two most expensive schools in Noida. Also can you give more info about Genesis and Lotus Valley. I have not heard too many reviews about Genesis. the perception is only it is an expensive school (though frankly their infra is awesome) and have heard mostly negative about Lotus valley.

In TSMS, for preliminary classes, the fees is higher. However, it evens out as the classes progress as percentage increase per standard is more in case of SBS. Genesis is expensive but academically decent. You can check its results using steps given here https://go4reviews.in/2015/05/how-to-find-cbse-school-wise-results/
Lotus valley provides a holistic view to education and is generally considered good.

Thanks for your valauable response. We have heard good so far for TSMS. The only concern is the higher fee for not so great infrastructure as compared to other schools on the expressway. Do they have any plans in future to improve the infrastructure.

I have heard that the teachers there are very experienced and the standard of education is very high. Is that correct?

And is ISCE close to the IB curriculum?

have had a very nice experience in TSMS. The only small issue is infra and that also mostly related to sports facilities. It has one of the most experienced top notch faculty in all Noida schools other than SBS and this is what impressed me the most. It has all the things which the core Shriram school has. It has tied up with Educomp (Millenium) only for infrastructure as it did not have a decent location over here. The management, curriculum and teachers are all managed by Shriram group. Also almost 30% teachers over here have been tranferred either from Shriram Delhi and Gurgaon. Even the current vice principal has been transferred from the Gurgaon branch.

There are 2 kids of my friends who have been going to TSMS for the last 3 years and I can see the difference. There is no flashy stuff in the school and it keeps the kids grounded.

The one and only issue is the high fee structure but then you need to pay for quality and brand.

Of the ones you visited, Genesis is the best however it is a costly affair. After that, would be JBM followed by Indraprastha followed by FWS. Indraprastha and FWS are a core indoor school while JBM is alike reasonable schools from that perspective. For a young child, staff is no different however, JBM fraternity has an academic past while the rest are new to the field.

    Hi

Many thanks for the valuable comments being provided here. It does help and get confusing also at times. Hence my question – Our son has been selected at TSMS. Although we have not had a tour of the school which we are going to do soon.
Another option we are considering is Lotus Valley. The reason we are focussing on these two because of the high ratings (top 5 in Noida) last year in HT. Also, we do want low Teacher Student ratio and extra curricular activities. We did think of DPS Noida but nor sure still.

Would you advise to go ahead with TSMS as we have to decide by end of this week or wait for Lotus valley schools procedure to be finished.

We know it is ICSE. Is the ICSE program very challenging for classes upto 5 as compared to CBSE?

    Thank you.

Finally selected Gyanshree even my son has also got selected there. Honestly GS was last in my list but when I visited the school, I really liked their infrastructure, Sports Activity, Staff, Hygiene, Teacher student ratio etc.
Although It’s a new school but I would request admin of this site to please add GS in your list and give desired rank as per your survey.

In ICSE program, attempt is to keep work limited to school. So, home works are rare. Plus, the curriculum is generally a year ahead. So, you would find someone with ICSE school being taught more than what a CBSE school child might have. It is a little tough on child. You are the best judge. If you feel your child is fast at adapting and a fast learner, you shall choose ICSE. Else, Lotus valley is reasonably good too and you can go for it.

Lately we, parents of 2 and half year kid attended an event organized by premier school in sector 62 Noida for pre-nursery and nursery school onwards admission. We were offered good discount to get admitted to their school. I find fee structure most of the school is already on their websites but many says contact school. Can we also put down here what is the fee structure and how much discount is offered? Its just bring more parity in what we are paying and what others paid?

I’ve question regarding the rating of schools in terms of academics/infrastructure/extra curricular activities from Kothari International, Millenium school,Amity International,Cambridge Noida,Apeejay ?
Considering Millenium is coming up with huge campus in sec 119 , should we go for it academic wise if we dont consider infrastructure they have in Sec 41 ?

See as of now, Millenium cant be compared with the rest but you can expect more sincere attention towards your child. However, security and basic discipline is an issue with any new school.
I assume you are talking of Millenium sector 41:

In terms of academic, Cambridge > Amity > Apeejay > Millenium > Kothati
      Co-curricular activities -> Millenium > Kothari > Amity > Cambridge > Apeejay
Extra curricular acvitivies -> Amity> Cambridge > Millenium > Kothari > Apeejay (although not all get chance in established schools with poor teacher student ratio)
Infra -> Amity > Cambridge > Apeejay > Kothari > Millenium (though Millenium’s unique teaching methodologies are one of its kind)

Others are free to pitch in with their personal perceptions and experiences.

Hi Sachin, I personally liked the Millennium School because of its unique teaching methodology as pointed out by the moderator as well. The new campus is quite big, I have seen it myself and it would be functional by April 2016. All classes from 1 till 12 will shift there. Only the pre-nursery, nursery and KG would remain in sec-41.

I get a feeling that in the next 3-4 years, this school would be in a league of its own.

I am really confused with your rating. You are putting kothari is last in terms of infrastructure. Have you ever seen their premises ? Also if extracurricular wise as well kothari is not on top then how you said earlier that its well good for overall development of child. Are you sure Amity & Cambridge are ahead of kothari in terms of extracurricular ? How about Mayoor & Ryan comparatively ?

In comparison to Amity, Cambridge and Apeejay which have well established infra since a while, Kothari still has scope although it is definitely eye catching unlike others.
See, our comparison is relative. And there too (extra-curricular activities wise), the other schools are more active. Problem with other schools is that due to high student/teacher ratio, not all student in a class may be benefited which is not an issue with Kothari. For a young child, a school like Kothari is a good option as you can expect attention.

Can you list down the reasons for the same.

I understand it is progressive school which is doing good and established in 2009.

Why are you under rating SBS and SNS.

I am going through the process of selecting the Nursery school and I am residing in 100.

Problem with TSMS is that it is running ICSE curriculum. Otherwise, its growth is worth following. From a new school in 2009, it moved to top 10 schools in Noida within 2 years (HT ranking) and it has only cemented its place since. It has ranked high on co-curricular, participation and teaching methodology parameters. Like in Gurgaon, one can expect a consistent growth with the school.
SBS is excellent today and being from CBSE curriculum, will certainly be the best choice for many. SNS still has some way to go although i cant deny that is doing quite well.

    Hi,

The only concern is that Its fees is on higher side and I am not sure if its value for money. As my daughter is Feb 2013 born so she is not eligible in DPS, Vishwa BHarti, Shriram Millenium, Mayoor so I have been waiting for Amity Results and Somerville Noida results. Can you please share other Day care schools near sec-74 or expressway where academics and extra-curricular is equally balanced. And also please share your reviews on Sapphire International if its value for money. Got an interaction call from Manav Rachna as well.

Sapphire is still in establishment mode. So, its too early to judge. However, we have had mixed reviews. Few are very satisfied while some got their child shifted to a different school. It all depends on how your child fits into their scheme of things. Security and profile of co-students is going to play a big role. Just discuss about the same with them. If you are comfortable, go for it.

But just to share my experience with you, I visited most of these schools and really liked the education philosophy of the Millennium School and their approach to learning. Go there and have a real time look at the educomp smart classes module, you would be able to see the difference.

Only limitation was that the school premises is small but they have a huge campus coming up in sector 119 noida. The work is underway and the senior wing would be shifting there soon.

All the schools you listed are good and would satisfy your requirement. Millenium and DPS Expressway are slightly on the inferior side but shall come good after 5-7 years from now.

    Hey,

Thanks for the informative post, we have been under tremendous amount of confusion over this past fortnight or so and will continue to be in the same state for another month i guess.

Our daughter has been shortlisted in Kothari International school. We personally loved the school but have heard that the school increases its fees by 10% across the board each year which would translate into a huge education cost by the time my daughter completes her education.

My personal preference is that the school should not be concentrating upon academics only, but should be a good mix of academics and co-curricular activities / hobbies.

From your reviews, it seems Mayoor would be a decent school which we have visited and found upto our satisfaction too (and within our budget)

I right now don’t intend to spend more than 28-30K per quarter [including transportation cost (we stay in Vasundhra Enclave and thus usually costs for transportation are upwards of 2.5K per month)].

I wish to have a one to one comparison between Mayoor School and Vishwa Bharti Public School, my preferences are not to academically upright school and Individual attention to students (thus a lower student to teacher ratio).

Would be glad if you could shed some light on the above.

    Thanks in advance

Dear Anuj, your perspective of education is well informed. Comparison below:

Academics: Vishwa Bharti > Mayoor > Kothari
      Co-curricular: Mayoor > Vishwa Bharti > Kothari
Extra co-curricular: Kothari > Mayoor > Vishwa Bharti
Student Teacher ratio: Kothari > Mayoor > Vishwa Bharti (Kothari has 20 to 1 for pre-primary, Mayoor has around 25, Vishwa Bharti has 30-40

Thanks so much for the quick feedback and a holistic comparison.

Your comparison pretty much clears the air for me… Mayoor with all the bases covered decently enough should fit my preferences and requirements from a school.

Thanks a ton for the advice.

If i have to choose between Lotus Valley, Presidium and Amity which one should i go for.

Also, is it worth trying for nursery again next year in Sri Ram Millennium?. In case he gets through he has to repeat nursery then.

Amity > Lotus valley. Presidium is no match. I feel within 5 years, Sriram millenium would be for Noida what Sriram school is for Gurgaon. It has shown some good results and the academics and other activities are well balanced. This is a tricky question and I would leave it to you and your better self to decide 🙂

    Hi,

This is an amazing portal, i have never seen such an interactive portal ever.. great job, keep it up. Really appreciate your work.

My Son is Dec 12 born, so he is not eligible for Sri Ram Millennium and DPS Noida(Sec30) this year, I am trying in Amity, Lotus Valley, Sommerville(Central Noida), Fortune World School, DPS Sec132, APJ, DPS Indirapuram.

What should be my order of preference, I am confused deciding between a traditional school or a new school. As per current growth I feel the child should exposure of everything, but not at the cost of education (I mean he should not be academically weak). Please advise.

Also advise if I should consider Step by Step and Genesis, though we can afford the fees but we belong to a working class family where both the parents are working, so I think my child might have an inferiority complex as compared to other rich students.

Thanks for the kind appreciation. Regarding the first question, FWS does not fall in same league as other schools in question. DPS 132 hardly has infra as of now but will get better in 3-4 years if they go as per plan. So, they miss the fun in earlier stages. Now, the other schools are more or less same (equally good) and you shall choose the one closer to your workplace/home as once in 2 weeks you may need to visit the school at least in pre-primary stages.
Your confusion coincides with the dilemna most parents are in today. I personally believe that home has much more role to play than the school for the child to turn things to big when he/she is a grown up. Academics is significant but more than that, discipline and a defined purpose and direction is what inculcates the zeal not only to study but to do things beyond ordinary.
Regarding your second query, SBS is better than Genesis on those terms. It is just my personal perception as our bloggers have met children from both schools. SBS seems more inclined towards moral science, just a hint perhaps.

Hi Rohit, Schools you have mentioned are decent. Management of all these schools have some previous education association. JBM has evolved from Bal Mandir Sr sec school Delhi, DPS expressway is a DPS franchise, Jaypee public school is Jaypee’s foray to root education, Somerville has the name to it.
For your budget, DPS would be on the higher side. You can try either of the rest 3. JBM has good infra followed by JPS and then Somerville.
Faculty wise, all three schools have reasonably junior staff at beginning stages.
You should visit and decide whats best on your personal assessment.
If you ask me, I would choose one between JBM and Somerville.

As of now, Gyanshree does not fall in genre of schools like ShreeRam or Shiv Nadar. There are other good options for nursery at 3+ years in the region. You may try Somerville or JBM. Of this, JBM meets your expectation related to extra curricular emphasis with good infra.

I stay in Sector 137 Noida. I was initially planning DPS Expressway for my 3 year old daughter but many children (30+ children) in my society go to DPS and I haven’t heard good reviews from their parents about DPS. They complain about lack of infrastructure, poor quality of teachers and bad student to teacher ratio. That puts me in a fix.
I was looking for other schools now.
What would be your recommendation for my daughter from below schools:
    1. Indraprashta Global School (nearest from my home)
    2. JBM
    3. Somerville 132
    4. Jaypee public school (economical and got mixed reviews from parents)

Also, few students of my society go to Greater Noida schools which is about 16-17 KM from my home. I went there over the weekend and found that the schools in Greater Noida are much better than that on expressway. Fees are normally low and they have bigger-better infrastructure. It takes only 20 minutes to get there I and not sure whether I should go for it but I was really impressed by Cambridge, Father Agnel and Ryan Greater Noida.

If you can go to Greater Noida, suggest you try Noida main instead. If still you opt for Greater Noida, schools you mentioned along with DPS Greater Noida are good.
On expressway, I suggest to try between JBM, Somerville and JPS if you have decided not to go for DPS Expressway. All the three schools have mixed reviews. So, make an informed decision. You may also visit admissionsnursery website to interact with other parents.

My kid is in pre-nursery @ Gyanshree.

I am satisfied with Gyanshree. Be it hygiene, responsiveness, approachability or communication – SMS’es related to absence / updates etc. E.g. a message after the Nepal earthquake indicated that “kids were safe and are out in the open.” Another thing that made me decide about Gyanshree was their open door policy – I could visit and see the ongoing classes (Before admission) to see how they take care of the kids. Student teacher ratio – for prenursery its 1:10 (Student : Teacher (excluding nannys))

The area of improvement is – taking care of kids belongings which I think is something I can live with for now, and as I talk to others it seems thats something which all schools need to improve upon.

I suggest you to go through nurseryadmissions website once to know parents perception. Amity and DPS both conduct extra curricular activities but its true that student teacher ratio is high. It will all depend on the kind your kid is. If he/she is reserved, you may choose a school with good ratio otherwise, these schools are well suited.

I believe more than the school and teachers, its the parents in their initial stages (of parenthood) that define their child’s directions.
Few students from ordinary schools seem to be doing so well in life that would put big schools to shame.
Inculcating good moral values and ensuring focused and concentrated efforts in study is critical need of the hour.
Sports and music help in focusing.
Traditional and academically schools coupled with involvement in sport and art can be a good flavor.
Do take other parent’s advice if you intend to put the child in a new school.
      All the best.

Some senior teachers in Mayoor have been brought from Mayo in Ajmer. That makes it quite promising. Coupled with the fact that Mayoor claims to follow teaching methodologies as adopted by their esteemed Mayo school.
From what I have observed, Mayoor school like other established school invests the least in advertisements in comparison to other growing schools.

Currently, ratio in DPS expressway is decent (around 25 to 30 students per teacher). But lets understand that at some point in time, it would reach the level of DPS Noida.
Billabong is not bad. Academically though, others are far ahead.

Thanks for writing to us. All except Billabong have their own merits. Extra curricular activities wise, Lotus and Kothari are ahead. Rest all provide stiff competition to each other when it comes to academics and co-curricular activities.

Hi Romil, specifically didn’t mention Mayoor as we were talking of extra curricular activities which are slightly subdued there. However, academics and co-curricular wise, its a good bet for sure. Avoid Gyanshree for now. Billabong can not be compared with other schools you mentioned. Its simply not in the same league.

Mayoor school receptionist told me admission will start in October and November. Its kind of shock to me because all other schools will be full by September.

I do not agree with this. I know a number of parents whose kids are studying in Gyanshree and are extremely satisfied and excited with the development, their philosophy, teaching methodology, stress on sports, etc. Visit the school once and I am sure your mindset will change.

If you are staying towards under-construction Amrapali mall, DPS greater noida would be a good bet.
If you are staying towards gaur city, there are many options in central Noida. Few of them:
      Father’s Agnel School sector 62
      Khaitan Public School sector 40
      Millenium school sector 41
GIIS which would be closest to you also has a decent review but its academic potential is still to be known.

You may also visit admissionsnursery website to get leads. Hope it helps!!!

Thanks for the appreciation. As per our research, it has to be Mayur first, then Lotus valley, thereafter DPS and JBM. I really cant talk about academics in DPS as students are yet to appear in competitive/board exams but parent’s feedback has been good. While parents have given good reviews about JBM generally, the catch is that faculty has a certain lack of experience. Mayur has the right mix of Traditional study pattern and co-curricular mix and that’s the reason I suggest the same over Lotus valley. Will update on fees soon.

You may go for Shiv nadar (around 1.8 lac per year), DPS (around 1.15 lac per year) or JBM (around 1-1.1 lac per year).
All these schools have websites that have the admission procedure and fees listed. All schools are in fact mandated by DoE to have fee structure shown on their website.
You can also chec admissionsnursey for more details.

    Hi,

We are shortly moving to Noida and are looking for admission of our daughter in pre-nursery program with either GIIS Noida or DPS Sector 132. GIIS is an option because of their day care facility and the activities encouraged by them are also good. It is not very expensive also.

DPS is an option for its reputation over all these years, but at the same time this DPS is only a franchise and not a core DPS School. Still I have seen some very good feedback from parents, therefore considering it as an option

Could you please help me with my decision. Also, can anyone please tell me any day care options near sector 132 and fee structure for DPS sector 132.

DPS sector 132 (irrespective of being a franchise) has experienced teachers and principal leading them. If you are looking for a day boarding school in decent budget, jbm too is a good choice for primary schooling and has some good jee results of its first 12th class batch. The teachers however are relatively inexperienced.

Actually, this is nothing specific to a school and may happen even to the best of kids across schools. If you reach such a situation, the sincere advice would be to look out for a change of school.
Suggest look out for Mayoor, Lotus Valley if it fits your budget as they have a reasonable student teacher ratio. Go for Apeejay if getting admission is not an issue.
Given your concern to see your child recover from the initial experience, you may also try JBM which is good for primary education (wont rate it very high academically but children get reasonable attention and a conscious attempt to help them grow is evident).

It is definitely good. But, as discussed previously, since student teacher ratio is not inspiring, it would be equally for you as a parent and your child to participate and come forward in all school activities as the inclusive desire from schools of the nature of DPS is restrictive in nature.

Thanks for writing to us. The ratings are based on parent circle feedback and newspaper ratings. However, Step by step has students from specific genre (as the fees and associated costs is high). SBS is still to beat other established schools on an academic front. That’s the reason we are reserved in our recommendation.
If you are moving near expressway, may we suggest Shriram Millenium (sector 135, if fees can be managed), Shiv Nadar or DPS expressway to you. These are still developing but have done very well of late.

I totally disagree with reviews of DPS Expressway sector 132. My daughter spend one aweful year in this school. In the name of their brand they work like money extracting tool. Studies are just zero. Most of the teachers are new and inexperienced. If you can spend two hrs daily for your ward studies, then only think of putting them in this school. In terms of using interactive boards they just play the c.w. to be copied by students. I sometimes use to wonder why the hell did I put my child in this school. It’s definitely a big NO.

          Hi Simran,

I completely agree with your assessment about DPS Sector 132, Expressway. I do not know about other schools, but my daughter who was considered to be a brilliant child in all aspects has not gained anything academically. Everything she has learnt is due to her mother’s relentless efforts.
I would rate DPS to be a pathetic school academically. Infrastructure & facility-wise, it could be at par or comparable to the best in Noida, but when it comes to the real deal, i.e. studies, it fares poorly. This sub-standard franchise is desperately trying to milk DPS’ brand, & extracting as much as possible from parents, without the slightest amount of focus towards academic delivery. I personally know of several parents who have already taken out their ward from this DPS-wannabe & got them admitted into other schools nearby. I am myself in a quandary as to where could my child receive the basic educational fundamentals. Leaving Delhi (along with its schools ) & coming to Noida Expressway was a decision we have come to regret, lately. We are exploring other schools & have zeroed in on these schools : APJ, Mayur, Amity, Father Agnel (though all these are very far) since I stay in Sector 137. What do you have on your mind ? Have you shortlisted some schools ? Please do update us of your decisions/plans, if possible –

Mayoor school is under the aegis of Mayo college in Ajmer which is top notch educational institution and boasts of some really good teacher base.
Parents of Khaitan school are generally more appreciative in a holistic way in comparison to Amity and Father Agnel.

Secondly, is it true that in schools like DPS Noida , mostly children are coming from high class and it sometimes leads to show off etc. which a middle class can’t afford which leads frustration and pressure on child which in turn affect their development?

As per parent’s reviews till last session (2014-2015):
DPS Noida -> Khaitan -> Amity -> Father Agnel -> Shiv Nadar -> DPS Expressway
      As expected in Future:
DPS Noida -> Khaitan -> Amity -> Father Agnel -> DPS Expressway -> Shiv Nadar

You are right about your other observation. That’s the case with DPS Noida and Amity specifically. Its not that middle class children do not excel here. Those who can keep off the negative energy, do very well in comparison to others.

All teachers on expressway teaching Nursery onward possess basic qualification, it is however true that many of them are not experienced.
If you have that kind of budget, Shriram Millenium and Step by Step are the best. Otherwise, people with child in Shiv Nadar, Lotus Valley and DPS have shared good reviews about these schools.
Amity, DPS and Father Agnel are like typical 2k generation schools that have stuck to old teaching principles leading to better academic results. Owing to the co-curricular/extra-curricular opportunities within the school, they are considered good for overall growth of the child. However, with high teacher student ratio, not all children reach their potential in true sense.

Our pleasure zam. Try for DPS. Else All are more or less the same. I would suggest to take your own informed decision amongst the three.

It is around 4 years old school. While primary schooling may not be that appealing, they have some senior teachers for advanced classes. you can opt for this for class 3 onwards.

Thanks for writing to us. If you are looking for experienced teachers around this region on expressway, you shall go for DPS 132 or shriram millenium 135. Closely followed by step by step and shiv nadar 168, rest of the schools are more or less the same. Given only these 2 choices, prefer Genesis over IPG if you can extend your education fees.

We believe Genesis is the best closely followed by JBM. These schools have been practicing day boarding since 2 years at least, hence the same must be well established.

It is good infra wise. However, it is just 2 years old, hence any assessment would be too premature.
The access is an issue since its between a residential set up.
Please share your views on the school thus far.

        Dear Go4Reviews,

The above article showing the details is above school has changed a lot. Can you please update the details as Shriram is showing as CBSE affiliated whereas it is ICSE affialiated. Also the infrastructure status of lots of schools have changed in the last couple of years. In addition to this you need to also include new schools on expressway such as Gyanshree.
