Some of the schools in Noida, Gurgaon, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad have begun their session 2020 – 2021. Few other schools are in preparation for the same.
Since the Coronavirus lockdown does not allow the students or teachers to go to schools, the schools have switched to Online Schooling for the time being.
This will obviously also enable the schools to demand fees from wards and hence pay the same over to the teachers and support staff. We will see how Schools Online classes work and how successful it has been so far.
While few schools in Delhi NCR are using conditional free tools like Microsoft Teams or Google hangouts chat, others are using complete ERP product bundled online classes.
As part of online classes, schools share credentials to students so that they can login to these applications on laptop/desktop or tablet. Once they login to the applications, they are directly taken to the ongoing class or they get a link to join class along with host of other student details.
Students can then view the teacher lectures live. They can ask questions to teachers or teachers can question the students via video chat or text based chat. A sample such session run by a Gurgaon based school can be viewed here
While this might look like a good deal, not all has gone well with this approach during the first week. Lot of network issues coupled with being naive to technology has left a bad taste to the teachers and students alike. Parents have also reported lack of seriousness among their wards while doing online classes.
This has been a golden opportunity for online teaching apps however so far, they have left a lot to be desired for no necessary fault of theirs.
