Haryana proposes board exams for class 5 and 8 CBSE and ICSE schools
Haryana government has proposed board exams for class 5 and 8 for all government and private schools including those affiliated to CBSE and ICSE schools. The change has been proposed as an amendment to Right to Education act 2011, whereby the idea is to ensure that children take education more seriously. As per this proposal, Haryana proposes board exams for class 5 and 8 CBSE and ICSE schools and hence all schools in the state will have to go for board examinations for their class 5th and 8th. However, the same examination has been postponed this year and if all goes as planned, the same will come into effect starting next session.
The complete notification where Haryana proposes board exams for class 5 and 8 CBSE and ICSE schools can be seen below. The students who do not clear the board examinations in first place, will get another opportunity in two months time to do so. A proof in form of certificate to this effect of clearing board examinations for these classes will be provided to the students.
This has already created mixed waves in key education hub in Haryana like Gurgaon and Faridabad. Will other states also follow this? It is entirely possible that some more states may take a cue from this proposal. This makes schools good in academics even more significant to choose from.
What is your view on this? Are you in agreement with this change?
