Nursery admission age criteria in Gurgaon schools
Unlike Delhi or Noida where age criteria for Nursery admissions is more or less same, schools in Gurgaon do not follow a consistent pattern. Different schools have different Nursery admission age criteria in Gurgaon schools. The age criteria for pre-nursery admission ranges from 2 to 3 years while age criteria for nursery admissions in Gurgaon range from 3 to 4 years.
Schools in Gurgaon attribute this to lack of Guidelines in the region. Another factor is that in Gurgaon, there are a number of schools offering education under different boards i.e. CBSE, ICSE (see list of ICSE schools in Gurgaon) and IB (see list of IB schools in Gurgaon). So, its difficult to define a particular age group since each board has different difficulty levels of curriculum. As a result, while few schools admit a child to nursery at age of 3, others play safe by preferring a more matured age of 3.5 or 4 years. We look at the age criteria for different schools in Gurgaon (refer list of best schools in Gurgaon) as per 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 nursery admission process below:

Please note shiv nadar has this year in 2020 revised the age criteria for nursery admission to 3 years from 3.5 years
My kid will turn 3 in March. shall i take admissions in nursery in established school for next session or wait for 1 more year given current situation.
Thanks for this information. Is there any school that takes admission for less than 2.5 years to prenursery. Also do u suggest putting a child in formal school at this age?
Hello, Please suggest the admission procedure for Aug’17 born child in Gurgaon region.
Also, please suggest the period of Application/Forms to be filled up for admission?
My child is born in mid of may 2017. When should i start his schooling? When should i admit him in pre-nursery?
He could be admitted to Pre-nursery in 2020 session. You need to look out for admission process that starts from June onwards.
What is the class structure for schools in Gurgaon. Is it Pre-nursery(or play school) –>nursery–>LKG –>UKG.
My child is turning 3 in March and she has not started any school for now. Please help how should I proceed.
The most common ladder is PreNursey->Nursery->KG->1st
You have an option to either get her started with one of the schools that accept children between 3 and 3.5 years old.
Or get her admitted to formal schools that have pre-nursery.
Or try a very good pre-school like Shriram early years for a year and then look for KG admissions when she is 4.
Thanks for the reply. But she has never been to play school. will she be able to go to the school directly? Also please suggest some best schools in Gurgaon. How is DAV sector 14
anything on my query
Hello Isha, please refer https://go4reviews.in/2018/07/best-schools-gurgaon-2018/ for some of the good schools. Its ok to put her into pre-nursery as its more play way in nature even in formal schools. DAV sector 14 is quite good on academics and faculty quality. however, individual attention to kid is less.
Try HDFC if the child is turning 3.3. try GD Goenka as second option. Or if you are ok, try a traditional one amongst one available
Which schools take admission to pre-nursery
Thanks for sharing this key info. Is there any possibility of age criteria being consistent across schools?
The DoE has shown no interest in this respect even when parents have been complaining since last 5 years.
Hi, My kid DoB is in May 2015. She will turn 3.9 next March. Planning to start her formal school next year. Currently she is in play school. Please guide if I should go for Nursery admission or KG next year.
Thanks!!
Hi Neha, she would be eligible for Nursery in the next session (2019-2020).
Go for Nursery for next session
Which school as per you is best option for a child turning 3 before March next year.
How is MRIS school please.
Its traditional in teaching methods. However teachers are hard working and parents are satisfied on most other aspects. Acads is the only lacking factor.
How is vega school please.
Vega school is good till primary classes. After that, for VI onwards, it needs serious upgradation of faculty and facility.
I Have recently shifted from Mumbai and seriously confused as my kid will turn 3.4 years in march next year. shall I wait for a year. if not, which are the options I shall consider.
There are some schools that accept admissions to nursery at this age. Amity, DPS 45 and HDFC are options you can explore along with Vega.
Please help me with reviews of Lancers Intl. It has high fees but how is it in comparison to Vega or Kuns?
Difficult to say which one is better of Vega and Kuns but lancers though extremely good on infra is yet to induct good teachers. They need to our efforts on training front.
This was a much need info, thanks.
