Best schools in Gurgaon 2018
Before you read the complete list of Best schools in Gurgaon 2018, it is important that parents realize that there is no binary in school education system. A school can not be simply classified as good or bad just because a survey comes up with particular perception of the school. A lot depends upon the kid’s upbringing prior to schooling and a lot depends upon the kid himself/herself. At the same time, before searching for a school, clarity of thoughts is essential. Answers to these questions are a must have: Do you feel the child is smart and confident enough and only needs a right academic direction? Do you feel all that the child needs is to grow in confidence? Do you feel child needs to find a career in sports or other extra co-curricular opportunities? Do you feel you can put the extra hard work by taking your kid to coaching/training in sports/music etc. during non-school hours? or Do you feel the child needs to have a strong like minded company? If you have answers to all these questions, this Survey could help you since we divide a particular School’s rating based on individual parameters and then we come up with overall ratings based on a well researched weightage given to these parameters.
This year, along with SchoolBrainer, we researched around 50 schools in Gurgaon. Ratings for few of these schools are primarily based on lineage, prospective parent’s feedback, planned/current infrastructure and submitted survey form, if applicable.
This year, we have re-adjusted our calculation of overall ratings for the school. We have taken 20% of Academics, 20% of Safety/Security and 20% of Individual attention to child as key parameters for overall ratings. These parameters are given highest weightage based on an online Survey we had run 3 months back. Other than these parameters, 15% of Co-curricular, 10% of Extra-curricular and 5% each of ‘Parents-Teacher Interaction’, ‘Infrastructure’ and ‘Teacher Welfare’ have been considered. More details of each parameter will follow after the list of Best schools in Gurgaon 2018 which is given below:

Rankings make sense to me. How is paras school in comparison to alpine?
I was shell shocked to learn that the school allows third parties to commercialise the sports infrastructure to unknown outsiders all year round before and after school hours. That means if any child pursues a sport and needs to train before or after school hours, they will be exposed to strangers. Strangely, this is the only school in Gurgaon that does it. Also the security risk as nobody checks the bags of these casual sports players which translates into a huge risk to send my son there for an education. Are schools actually permitted to do this? Checked with Shiv Nadar and Kunskapsskolan and they do not permit outsiders to use the school infrastructure. I am not considering this place any more for my son.
Really a very helpful article thanks for sharing and keep on sharing!
RC International is one of the most preferred CBSE schools in Chikkabanavra premier educational institutions in Bangalore and has attained unparalleled status and stability with its own sprawling campus.
Can u tell how is SunCity school that overtook shriram global school. The staff of original school was ok ok. Have they changed the staff now.
Please help me understand which is better of the 2- Scottish high or shikshantar and why. I am specifically looking for good acads and personality development.
Comparing Amity versus DPS 4 versus HDFC for my kid. Please help.
Guess you are comparing DPS 45 with HDFC. DPS 45 is better. I consider HDFC good on sports only comparatively.
My child started class 1 from this year in tsms. It’s been a decent experience in the first week. Hoping for the best.
Fees for Shriram Aravali school is around 60k per quarter with admission fees of around 1lac.
I want to know the comparision b/w Amity International & TSMS. Which one is better??
If you are talking about pre-primary or primary, TSMS is good based on my experience so far this year. Amity is all academics and some select get exposure to extra curricular activities. TSMS is new and hence good focus on child is offered. If its senior class, go for Amity Intl since TSMS is still building up its senior staff.
I am in a fix right now. For my child who has to be admitted to class iv, I am confused between dps 45 and Suncity 37d. One is established, other isn’t. One is traditional, other isn’t. What to do members
Depends on what you are looking at. If focus is academics, choose DPS 45. If you feel kid has matured enough to compete among classmates, choose DPS 45 else SunCity 37d.
Thank you for sharing such great information. can you help me in finding out more detail on best schools in gurgaon
I have an option to go for either of these schools from my 5 year old child: DPS Maruti Kunj, DPSG Sushant lok and DAV. Please advise based on acads.
DPS Maruti Kunj is good. Considering the child is going to join class 1, individual attention will also be important. Hence, the advice. However this is only a personal view You are advised to take a well informed decision.
At this point of the year, Suncity 37d, TSMS and Kuns are still taking admissions for primary and senior classes. I need to get my child admitted to class III. Please advise which of these is better. Please note i am not looking for traditional schools like DAV, DPS etc.
There are other good options like GD Goenka global, DPSG Sushant lok, DPS Dwarka expressway as well
Is shriram millennium still taking admissions?
Feedback for Shriram Millennium School please. Does it lack sports facilities
Academics-Curriculum and teacher training – The senior staff (>class 3 onwards) of Shriram millennium school is quite experienced. Junior staff is also trained well before they start teaching. Academics in its previous venture in Noida and Faridabad has been good.
Co-curricular- Enough exposure provided to children.
Sports- Infrastructure is limited. Although students are trained in sports, the likelihood of a full size sport facility is not there.
Yes, for class KG onwards
Need genuine feedback for ridge valley school. Any parents from junior wing here?
Ridge valley is good for junior classes. Teachers are hardworking. But I didn’t find them as well trained as everyone has different style of teaching.

good list
veraxe
Our survey rankings have changed basis of survey forms received from certain schools that had not participated previously.
I am moving from.bangalore to Gurgaon and would be working in IBM. Could someone advise on a good school near IBM office next to highway.
Any parents from Shriram global school? It has now been bought by Suncity group. Will that help it’s prospects?
Is there any decent school where admissions are still open for next session. Location is not a constraint. Thanks.
Try ridge valley, TSMS, gems academy
Go4Reviews team, my home is near TSMS but my child has also got through the Scottish high. We are ok with both schools but infra of TSMS is no doubt inferior. Please advise.
TSMS is going to be a good choice. The location is bit isolated though. Scottish high is established. If you want good sports facility, go for Scottish high. For short term also, Scottish high is good. If you are looking at long term gains and ok with ICSE as a board, TSMS can be considered equally.
Kuns DLF is almost nfull now and they are putting people on waitlist now. What do you suggest? Kuns international-how is it?
Don’t go for Kuns international. Staff is not as good as Kuns DLF.
Please Go4Reviews tell me how is Narayana etechno school.
I also want to know about this school.
Not good. There were recently issues with short circuit in a class in one of its school. There have been other concerns as well. Better look for others.my point of view.
Suggest between HDFC school Gurgaon and TSMS Gurgaon please
ts a comparison between an established group and a group undergoing consolidation. TSMS has done a wonderful job in Noida and Faridabad and Gurgaon is expected to be no different since former TSRS Delhi acamedician and TSMS Faridabad’s principal is leading it. It is expected to be one among the most sought after schools in 2-3 years from now. HDFC has a very able leadership in form of its principal who was previously with DAV. Expected to be more academics centric.
I am getting a transfer from Pune to Gurgaon. In Pune, my child is studying in dps and I have an option to seek transfer to DPS school in Gurgaon. Which branch is good? Or shall I instead go for new school. Child is studying in 5th class.
MRIS is very good.
Thanks. Is it better than DPS 45? Also, I have few specific questions please about MRIS if you are a parent there.
How is Amity global school. They still have admissions open.
My personal experience has not been very good. Average academics and infra not as good as other IB schools in the region.

DPS Maruti Kunj versus DPS Sushant lok? I am looking for a senior class admission and hence interested in DPS or DAV. Couldn’t make through DAV so contemplating DPS Maruti Kunj and Sushant lok.
Sushant lok if you consider academics alone. While Maruti Kunj branch is much more approachable and listens to concerns.
Few more like ardee, Nayanthara could be covered in the list. It would help PPL like me looking for alternatives.
How is ardee school please. I know it doesn’t find a mention but what are the prospects of their Montessori style teaching.
Can you share name of some good traditional schools since I tried a so called modern school for my kid last year but not very happy.
DPS 45 and Sushant lok, DAV 14, Amity 43 are good options among traditional schools. Also consider St Xavier’s.
I am quite confused between Kuns and LVIS. Please help me decide for a boy for nursery.
Kuns: You have to put little time teaching your kid at home, the kid grows in confidence. However academic results are average
LVIS: Believes in frequent evaluations to sharpen skills. Parents need to put effort at home. Academic results far better.
My daughter will go to nursery from 19-20. Which school u suggest between MRIS and HDFC.
HDFC principal is from DAV. So definitely acads in HDFC will be better. Overall HDFC is expected to have a bigger name due to that. However,MRIS is good for parents seeking overall exposure to the kid.
We did not get through lottery of shriram. What is the next best option among shalom hills, Kuns international and tsms?
TSMS for sure. Kuns next for overall development and then shalom hills. This would be my list.
TSMS then Kuns and then Shalom hills. But see if you don’t have a problem with location of TSMS
How good is Scottish high? I am getting mixed reviews for primary classes.
Quite good. I would rate it only next to Shriram and Heritage in Gurgaon.

How is shiv nadar when compared to lvis
See scj world academy is quite conventional in nature.cocurricular activities exposure is good, extra curricular options are few. Approachabiliy is a concern.
Thanks, Shreyas.
By approachability – do you mean distance to reach school OR are the teachers/staff not approachable?
And by conventional, you mean – the school is not experiential?
Thanks.
Hi Aman, i was referring to approach-ability with staff/teacher. It offers children options to explore their interests but the methodology is more or less conventional. please note i am a parent there and happy with my kid’s progress but then academics was the key for me.
Please share views on MRIS, DPS 45 and Amity International 46.
Hi team,
Thanks for the hard work on your reviews.
Request review of SCJ World Academy as well.
We are planning to purchase a property in Sohna and SCJ World Academy and GD Goenka World School are 2 closest-to-home options.
Regards,
Aman
Hi Aman. Sure. We hope to have around 5 more schools included in the list by this weekend.
Thanks. Awaiting the addition.
Hi Aman, you can find reviews for both at https://go4reviews.in/category/blog/education/gurgaon-schools/
Please advise between traditional schools – AMity International, Salwan, Xaviers, DPS 45 or DAV 14?
Excellent info. I have to get my maid’s child admitted in a private school. What are the requirements for EWS and which school accepts?
I would try to explain how it works to you. First of all, any private school is supposed to have around 10% EWS seats which can be passed onto general category in lieu of insufficient application. The kid in question has to pass EWS qualification exam. The family has to have BPL card and the annual income filled in form shall be less than BPL limit. An enquiry can be done by school where there is doubt but the enquiry has to be done in time bound manner. Post that, any private school cannot refuse admissions to the kid on merit of financial condition, provided it has not breached 10% seats already. Schools like Vidya school in Gurgaon have 100% seats reserved for EWS.
How is MRIS when compared to KR mangalam?
if comparsion is between two then MRIS is far better than KR Mangalam.
Still looking for more feedback on MRIS.
See MRIS is a new school with a good potential. They spend well on getting a good faculty. On the other hand, KR Mangalam has already given some decent results in Gurgaon. But KRMS is a bit less into co-curricular activities. Other aspects, there is very little to separate the two.
Please also add Ambience and ridge valley to the list.
Yes, we are going few more schools including these two the list soon.
Hi Abhimanyu, you can find reviews for both at https://go4reviews.in/category/blog/education/gurgaon-schools/
We are soon coming up with feedback/review about Ridge valley, Ambience school and Narayana techno school as well.

How is maitrikiran school in comparison to Vega
Maitrikiran has a good infra in comparison to Vega, the outdoor exposure is also more. However, faculty and individual attention wise, Vega stands out. I would prefer Vega between the 2 as it stands today.
Shikshantar has been among top 3 highest scoring school in Gurgaon. There is undoubtedly a reason for that which is it’s deep rooted understanding of providing info to the child.
Pingback: Best schools in Gurgaon 2017 - 2018 | Schools Real Estate and more
I have heard that shikshantar has lot of new faculty now. has it caused issues?
Few parents do feel that there has been an overhaul at junior faculty level. However, senior faculty level is still mostly the same and so are the results.
Thanks for throwing light on the topic. So, its still worth the top choice, right? My key factors are individual attention and academics.
I am looking for admission for my child but my problem is that good schools start admission late so we need to try our luck and as a result, our money would get stuck in one of backup schools. could you advise what should be backup schools for us.
Suncity, Kuns, HDFC are few which could be on your backup list. however, lot depends on your own priorities and parameters you have flagged for yourselves.
which one would would be a better choice between HDFC and Kuns for nursery?
Hi Siddhartha, Kuns is a good option for building confidence in the child and parents too can reach the management. However, the KED methodology in itself leaves little scope for Academics and when compared to the existing needs of CBSE board, it doesn’t quite fit in. So, the only issue with Kuns is Academics, else its mostly good.
HDFC on the other hand is a newer set up under able leadership of previously DAV principal. The focus would be more on academics. facilities and activities carried out are decent but individual attention would be comparatively less compared to Kuns.
Pingback: Nursery admissions for session 2019-2020 begin, details inside | Schools Real Estate and more
Your list has TSMs in top 10 even though it’s a new school. Any reason for that?
Yes, it would be it’s first session next year. Having witnessed the growth of TSMS in Noida and Faridabad, it’s a dark horse in Gurgaon. A good alternative for parents looking for admissions in big name schools.
Thanks for the exhaustive list. please suggest about suncity school. is it better than Kuns DLF city?
Well, the difference between the schools is both on teaching methodologies and acad outcome and fees. Fees of kuns is almost 1.5 times. The acads of Suncity is a tad superior. However, the parents satisfaction is high in Kuns due to its teaching methodology, comfort and approachability.
I have Gems, Kuns and Vega in my back up list apart from the usual high profile schools. please advise if this is a good backup list.
Yes, that’s a decent list but you may relook at Vega since that may not entirely fit in all parameters especially acads and extra curricular. You may also include TSMs and Suncity apart from usual top shortlisted schools.
Please help advise how is Shalom hills. I have got some mixed reviews.
It has good reviews from parents and a mixed feedback from parents sharing perception based feedback. The acads is good but one common negative feedback is lack of individual education especially in primary years.
