EWS admission process in Gurgaon schools
Under Section 134A of the Haryana School Education Rules (HSER), 2003, Economically Weaker Section/Below poverty line (EWS/BP)L students in classes 2-12 can take admission in private unaided schools. 10% of seats in private schools have to be reserved for this category. Not every one can apply under the scheme and the admissions take place over a time bound manner. We look in detail at the EWS admission process in Gurgaon schools (this applies to all Haryana schools including Faridabad schools as well).
Admission process:
-
Check if the process is open for admission at 134AOnline website (the website may change in future). Also, Haryana education department publishes the news of EWS admissions in leading newspapers. For year 2020-21 for example, this was done in February/March 2020. However, the process could not be completed in 2020 due to pandemic lockdown.
-
If the process is open, fill online application as student/parent through Student/Parent registration link. The form asks parents for details with respect to domicile, EWS/BPL proof and nearby school’s details. Parent can choose maximum 15 schools out of which 10 have to be within their block. Note down the registration number.
-
Private unaided schools are supposed to share their availability at the same website.

Lottery is conducted by the state department once entries are received from private schools.
