How you may end up spending almost 50k extra per annum while staying at Noida/Greater Noida

Noida is considered the fastest growing city in the club of cities that fall under Delhi NCR.

The infrastructure in the city is no doubt top notch with large roads, expressways, FOBs and underpasses. Created on lines of a modern Chandigarh, the city has attempted to isolate major commercial junctions like sector 18 away from the residential area.

While residents have the benefit of better infra and facilities in comparison to other cities, what perhaps not many may realize is the extent of expenditure and health issues they are incurring upon themselves. Take the below for a brief look:

Money spent on AC repair (due to drain emitted poisonous gases that react) – Rs 1500 to 6000 on yearly basis

Money spent on RO & RO maintenance (as water is exessively hard)- Rs 4000 on yearly basis

Money spent on Termite treatment/wood repair (due to moisture in air that Termites breed upon)- Rs 4000-10000 per year

Money spent on CP fittings replacement/repair (due to hard water)  – Rs 5000 average per year.

Money spent on re-paint of iron products (due to hard water and moisture)  – Rs 2000 per year on average

Money spent on geyser repair (due to hard water) – Rs 500-1000 per year

Money spent on health issues like Asthma, Allergies, Hair loss (due to hard water and excessive dust in air) – Rs 10000-15000 per year

Money spent on additional cleaning (due to dust ) – Rs 2000 per year

Money spent on electricity equipment repair (due to peak fluctuations) – Rs 5000 per year

Total expenditure per year – 35k to 50k

While from outside it looks like the city to live in, there are many things that the authorities need to do to make it truly livable. Here are just few of them:

  1. 100% Ganga water supply availability
  2. Covering of drains
  3. Strict implementation of NGT guidelines
