Impact of NGT direction on halting of construction in view of rising air polluting activities

A recent order by NGT has directed development authorities to bring construction activity to a halt at a specific stretch in Noida extension and Gurgaon while taking cognizance of increasing air pollution due to construction activities. The stretch is from NH24 till Gaur chowk in Noida extension (Greater Noida west) and Golf course road in Gurgaon.

When we contacted NGT, we were told from the redirected source that while the immediate direction is for these stretches, the effect could be far reaching (across multiple regions).
Authorities of all NCR cities are directed to find and bring to halt any construction activity polluting air through means of construction dust and smoke out of makeshift brick making units.
Authorities have been asked to identify such construction within 2 weeks and to order halt of construction till adequate measures to prevent air pollution are followed.

We were also informed that the current direction for halting construction activity is expected to be for a short duration of time as the means to prevent air pollution are quite straightforward and can be achieved with ease by builders within 2 to 4 weeks duration.

With due thought to rising air pollution levels, it wont be irrelevant to state that the direction by NGT is on right lines with radical impact across geographies but only for a limited duration.

Hi, what will be the impact with respect to project delivery ? May be only little delay ? Or builder may impose extra charges ?
How difficult is it for builders to start following ngt measures from now onwards, specifically if the project is already in possession phase ?

Hi Ashish, not currently, but no project in Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Gurgaon are safe from this as all seem to be taking this aspect too lightly
